![]() About Susy JackSusy Jack* is an independent paper, pattern, and lifestyle collection created by Susan Connor, and inspired by living well via the art of personal style. Our products mix elements from the worlds of textiles, fashion, hardware, and ephemera. We create products you can feel good about buying, giving, and living with. From day one, our wares have been proudly and thoughtfully made in the United States. We consider utilizing local vendors and resources, and playing a part in the health of our local and national business ecosystem to be a fundamental responsibility. Since it's beginnings in 2007, Susy Jack* has grown to include calendars, desktop items, and accessories, which are currently sold at better retailers nationwide.
About SusanAs a child, designer Susan Connor often found herself looking closely at things in the old New England home she grew up in; having what she considers "moments" with objects. Her father's tools and work surfaces...her mother's fabrics, clothespins and sewing supplies, a canvas dropcloth....a tin of shoe polish. These objects comforted her in their utility, and also amazed her with their often unappreciated beauty. The idea of doing more with less, and of bringing a frugal yet inspired creativity to everyday objects is a staple of what and how she creates.
Susan is an NYC-based designer. She grew up in a creaky bohemian home outside of Boston, where there was always art on the walls, a project in the works, good food on the table, and an eclectic mix of DIY ingenuity, humor and handiness. Today, she lives in Manhattan with her boyfriend, writer Kurt Wildermuth. |
